Become a Litfest Volunteer

The South Coast’s newest Literary Festival (second year) needs Volunteers to help make the Festival happen!

We have a team of wonderful Volunteers who took part in 2018 and are still keen to help but we should still like to hear from you if you are able to help with the organisation of this year’s Festival.

The Festival will be held over three days: Friday 30th August to Sunday 1st September 2019, so you will definitely need to be available on at least one of these days, and to attend a couple of Volunteer Briefing Sessions beforehand.

Volunteers (as the name implies) will not be paid, although in some cases expenses will be reimbursed. You will get a fabulously attractive T-shirt to wear during the event – and afterwards of course! – plus the opportunity to attend activities on the Festival Programme, from workshops to plays, and to meet some fantastic authors. Not least, you will be able to say that you were in at the start of what we intend to be an annual event in the Hastings festival calendar.

What are we looking for? Obviously, an interest in literature, reading, and writing is important. You will need to be friendly, reliable and confident. You must also be aged 18+ at the time the Litfest takes place. A good knowledge of Hastings and St Leonards will help. The following would be particularly welcome: first aid qualification, current driving licence, retail/ conference/ events hospitality experience.

If you would like to join the Volunteers but are unable to get to the sessions on 24th February, please complete the Contact form on the website and we will get back to you.

It can’t happen without you!
