Hastings Litfest Book Club

Thursday 29 August

Venue: Upstairs at the Jenny Lind Inn, High Street, Old Town, Hastings BN34 3EW

We are delighted that celebrated local author Tessa Boase has agreed to host the first Litfest Book Club.

For this event we will be discussing Tessa’s book Mrs Pankhurst’s Purple Feather Fashion, Fury and Feminism – Women’s Fight for Change with the author – followed by a book signing (bring your own copy of the book).

Mrs Pankhurst’s Purple Feather tells the story of the “invisible women” who fought for change in the late nineteenth and early twentieth century – focusing on both Emmeline Pankhurst and Etta Lemon – who was a driving force behind the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds (RSPB).

To book, email Rhonda MacLean at rhondam@hastingslitfest.org by 15th August.

Please note – this free event is open to members of all local book groups, but spaces are limited to 22.
